{ new feature: reclaim | repurpose | refresh }

I'm starting another new feature today: reclaim | repurpose | refresh in which I will feature artists, designers and interiors that have embraced and mastered the fine of art of making everything old new again. I have a few 'trash to treasure' projects of my own backing up on the ole to-do list, so I also hope to share some of those with you upon their completion.

First up is Santa Monica based designer
Erinzam, who currently finds herself in limbo between completion of her graduate work and securing a real job. During this transition, Erin has opened an etsy shop which showcases her charming paper goods, original mixed media paintings and fun prints–most of which are created with reclaimed notions.

These mini tag books were developed when Erin mistakingly cut a stack of pages way too small for another project. She stumbled upon a set of vintage inventory tags in her studio and Voila...mini tag books.

Original mixed media acrylic paintings,
created using discarded library book covers and pages-brilliant!

Erin worked with the ever so fabulous online shop, three potato four, to create this exclusive set of three mini tag books.  Love the clever cloth pouch packaging. Pick up a set here.

Check out Erin's inspiring blog where she often shares step by step instructions (with photos) for many of her projects. Make sure you also scoot over to her etsy shop and show this student in transition some love...perhaps Erin won't have to get that real job after all.

How about you...do you have a trash to treasure project you'd like to showoff? Pop me an e-mail at shoptalkbuzz at gmail dot com, I'd love to feature it!

I love that!! I'm really going to look forward to this feature on your blog! So interesting to see what you can do with junk, and its such a reward in the end, homemade, eco-friendly and one of a kind!

This is an incredible feature article :) I had never seen the recycling of the book covers as mats for artwork! Truly remarkable!

Thank you for this excellent posting :)

I'm off to go explore now!
