I started my weekend a little early this week, but I couldn't let today go by without giving you your weekend getaway guide:

.01   I love this back to basics party idea. So simple and fun for the kid in all of us.
.02   I'm in awe of this amazing
project.
.03   This is on my must list when I make it back to Paris. See more pics of it here.
.04   These are gorgeous. You can make them yourself.

Thank you for for spending a bit of your week here with me. Wishing you all an amazing weekend!

{ thursday things worth a look: cottage home tour }

Charming California cottage

This is one of my favorite home tours ever. It was featured in Cottage Living a couple of years ago and I have never forgotten it. Do you ever come across home tours that just speak to you immediatelyt? I think because the era of the home (1920s) and architectural style (cottage tudor) is similar to our own little abode, it helped me to see our home's potential and offered an inspiration board, if you will, that I refer back to again and again.  The article is both well loved and well worn so I was thrilled to stumble upon it online. Would you like to take a peek?

Stylish, kid-friendly living room
The pops of color incorporated into the otherwise neutral palette is one of my favorite elements as is the family friendliness of the home (the owner has two daughters).

Light, breezy kitchen
The kitchen is perfection...I wouldn't change a thing.

Luxurious, but casual, master bedroom
I love the mix of modern with traditional

Diverse dining room furnishings
Have you noticed the natural light thanks to the many french doors and oversized windows throughout the home--beautiful!

You can see additional images from the feature article here. Thank you for indulging me and letting me share some of my home fantasies with you all. I hope you've found something to inspire you as well.

{ wednesday wish list: dreams & jewelry }

I thought we'd start today with these little pretties from Dreams & Jewelry.

I love the use of oxidized, hand stamped metals that give each piece an organic feel–as though the materials used were discovered while strolling along the beach and then repurposed into petite new treasures. Dreamy, subtle colors make each piece truly distinctive.

Visit the Dreams & Jewelry shop to browse the full collection.

{tempting me tuesday: bella muse }

I recently spied the lovely gicleƩ and silk screened prints available on BellaMuse and instantly fell in love with the bold, colorful graphics. The selection of prints is plentiful and provides so many possibilities. I have added a few to my home office wish list.

These are some of my favorites. You can view more offerings here.

Thank you all for your recent comments and emails--I truly appreciate them and have enjoyed *meeting* all the new readers. My apologies if I haven't responded back to you yet. I am in the midst of a huge end of school year project for my daughter's class while also trying to balance work responsibilities. Once I'm able to wrap up this project, I'll be back in business...thanks for hanging in there with me.

{merci to design crush for introducing me to this fabulous site}

{ monday making me smile: les fifoles }

I am completely enamored with the gorgeous photos found on Les Fifoles, a blog based in Switzerland and written in French. Weathered cafe tables and chairs, vintage enamelware, white on white with a dash of silver, fresh blooms, and perfect little pitchers–all of my favorites captured in Les Fifoles fabulously styled photos.

I hope they make you all smile as well on this lovely Monday.
