I was thrilled to find these...two complete sets of vintage curtains perfectly preserved in their original packaging. The colors are perfect for what I have planned for the great studio/office makeover of 2008 {more on that later, I promise}.
It's hard to tell in the photo, but along with all the pink there is a wonderful retro orange giving the curtains the hint of funkiness I was after--love them!
Peeking out from the bottom of a pile of fabrics in the same booth was the fringe from this lively pink and orange chenille spread. As soon as I spotted it {and started drooling all over it}, the dealer offered me a package deal with the curtains, so really...how could I resist. I haven't decided if I'll keep it as is, or perhaps repurpose it into fun cushion covers for a couple of vintage patio chairs I found last summer.
Grabbed this adorable thermos immediately upon seeing it.
Then, just as my daughter was explaining that her legs were getting "wobbly" and we needed to leave, we stumbled upon this charming grade school text book from the 50s. The illustrations throughout the book are irresistible and little one is so excited to try some of the simple experiments that are detailed with step by step instructions.
These are some of my favorite kinds of posts! Loved seeing what you found. Good stuff!
ReplyDeleteOh, these are all so wonderful Suzanne! I cannot wait to see the great office makeover of 2008! :) I love the pieces you found, so happy and cheerful and to me, thrifting and antiquing are heaven on earth! What an excellent way to spend a day with the little one! I would love to take mine with me too sometime!

ReplyDeletei love your finds, particularly the chenille + curtains (drool). the days where you find so many wonderful things at once are harder to come by for us. but, when they happen, it's kind of like christmas.

Great finds and a great day. I especially love how the thermos looks all sweet and inoocent and iced-tea-ish, but may actually be mint-julep-ish!
ReplyDeleteI'm supposed to go to the Farmington Antiques Show this Saturday if it doesn't rain, hopefully I'll have as good a time as you did!
Mmmm....maybe we should have went to Sacramento rather than Spokane? Wonderful finds...I will take the thermos please.

ReplyDeleteOh you lucky thing! I'm always drooling over your american antique and flea markets! So much fabulous stuff you can find there! My local fair seems to have the same sellers, offering the same things week after week ! ;-) I still go though...as I'm always looking for those special treasures ;-)
